Paintings During This Period:

During this period of time, Aaron Draper Shattuck produced the majority of his work. Shattuck painted in New Hampshire, New York, Maine, Vermont, and a small amount of work in West Virginia. Unlike a lot of artists at this time, Shattuck never went to Europe to study and rarely ventured out of New England. His fascination with the New England rocky hillside, flora, and broomstick elms is apparent at this period.
